a mitre saw is used to make precise simultaneous angled and bevelled
cuts, without any risk of the blade slipping - very useful for making
picture frames, and for decorative work such as wood panelling or
flooring.
the more teeth the blade has, the finer the cut. .
The radial function, if your machine has it, means that you can cut wider pieces, for
example: parquet strips, shuttering boards, shelves, etc.
The laser, if your machine has one, produces a beam of light which shows you where
the blade will go.
Look for a machine whose cutting capacities are suited to the kind of work you are
doing.
