Safety Equipment
– Fire Systems
Danger: The following should be observed to ensure safe operation of your Fairline.
Do not smoke when handling fuel or gas.
Do not fill any fuel tank or replace gas bottles when machinery is running, or when cooking or heating
appliances are in use.
Do not modify any of the craft
’s systems (especially electrical, fuel or gas) or allow unqualified
personnel to modify any of the craft’s systems.
Do not use gas lights in the craft.
Do not leave the craft unattended when cooking and/or heating appliances are in use.
Do not obstruct portable fire extinguishers stowed in lockers.
Do not obstruct safety controls e.g. fuel valves, gas valves, switches of the electrical system.
Do not fit free hanging curtains or other fabrics in the vicinity of, or above, cookers or open flame
devices.
Do not stow combustible material in the engine space. If non-combustible materials are stowed in the
engine space they shall be secured against falling into machinery and shall cause no obstruction to
access into or from the space.
Do keep bilges clean and check for fuel or gas leaks or vapors frequently.
When replacing parts of the fire fighting installation, only matching components shall be used, bearing
the same designation or having equivalent technical and fire-resistant capabilities.
Do ensure you and your crew are well aware of fire safety procedures.
