4. Using the Meter
4.1 SMART Function Measurement
Move the rotary switch to the “
SMART
” position. The
default mode is “AC Current”, “DC Current”, “AC
Voltage”, “DC Voltage”, “Resistance” or “Continuity”.
Connect the test leads across the circuit or load to be
measured. It will be an Automatic judgement on the LCD
display. When used the meter to measure the AC/DC
current, the meter also can display the measurement (for
example DCV or ACV or ohms or continuity) that measured
from the jaw of the meter at the same time.
4.2 Auto Power Off
If the meter is not used for approx.15 min., the meter will
automatically turn itself off to conserve battery power. To
turn the meter back on after auto off, press the “
A-HOLD
”
button.
4.3 DC Voltage
1. Insert the red test lead in the “
INPUT
” jack and the
black lead in the “
COM
” jack.
2. Move the rotary switch to the“
V
”position.
The default mode is DC voltage. Connect the test leads
across the circuit or load to be measured.
3. Read measured voltage on the display.
4. Measure known voltage with the meter to verify that the meter
is working properly. If the meter is working abnormally, stop
using it immediately.
CAUTION
Use extra caution when measuring high voltages to
avoid electric shock or damage.
WARNING
Do not attempt to measure voltages above 600V DC
to prevent injury or damage to the meter.
