TOOL CHANGING
Take care that the dust protection cap (Fig. 1.3) is
not damaged when changing tools. The SDS - plus
tool is designed to be freely movable. This caus-
es eccentricity when the machine is offload. How
ever, the drill automatically centers itself during
operation. This does not affect drilling precision.
Inserting
Clean and lightly grease the tool before inserting.
Insert the dust-free tool into the tool holder (Fig.
1.2) with twisting manner until it latches. The tool
locks itself. Check the locking by pulling on the
tool.
Removing
Pull the locking sleeve (Fig. 1.4) to the rear and
hold while removing the tool.
PUTTING INTO OPERATION
f
Switching on: Press the on- off switch (Fig. 1.10).
f
Switching off: Release the on- off switch.
f
Switching on/off in chiseling mode.
To lock the pressed on/off switch, push the lock-
on button (Fig. 1.9) upward. To switch off the
power tool. Release the on/off switch or when it
is locked with the lock-on button, briefly press the
on/off switch and then release it.
OVERLOAD CLUTCH
f
If the drill bit becomes jammed or caught, the
drive to the drill spindle is interrupted.
f
Because of the forces that occur as a result, always
hold the machine with both hands and take a se
-
cure stance. The machine should be used only with
an auxiliary handle.
f
Auxiliary Handle (Fig. 1.6): You will be able to ob
-
tain a safe position when working by rotating the
handle attachment. Loosen and turn the handle
attachment in an anticlockwise direction.
f
Depth Stop (Fig. 1.5): Loosen the winged screw
on the auxiliary handle. Adjust the drilling depth
on the depth stop. Retighten the winged screw.
OPERATING MODES
WARNING
Change the operating mode only when the machine
is switched off! Otherwise, the machine can be dam
-
aged.
Please trigger the release button of the opera-
tional mode selection switch slightly.
1. Drill mode:
Turn the mode se-
lector switch (Fig.
1.7) to direction.
2. Hammer drill mode:
Turn the mode se-
lector switch to
direction.
3. Chisel mode
Turn the mode se-
lector switch to
direction.
4. Changing the chis-
eling position
The chisel can be
locked in 8 positions.
In this manner, the
optimum
working
position can be set
for each application.
Insert the chisel into
the tool holder. Ad-
just the chiseling po-
sition to your desired
angle, then switch to
chisel mode to apply.
SHARPENING THE CHISELING TOOLS
With sharpened insertion tools, one achieves good
working performance and long service life. There
-
fore, sharpen the chisel regularly. Sharpen the tool
on a grinding wheel (e.g. alumina oxide) with con-
stant water supply.
MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING
WARNING
Before any work on the machine itself, pull the mains
plug. For safe and proper working, always keep the
machine and the ventilation slots clean. Clean the
tool mount daily.
Replacing the Dust Protection Cap.
Damaged dust protection caps should be re-
placed as soon as possible since dust that enters
the tool holder can cause malfunctions. Pull back
and hold the locking sleeve (Fig. 1.4). Pull off the
dust cap (Fig. 1.3) with a suitable tool. With the
locking sleeve pulled back, pull on the new dust
cap until it sits firmly over the tool holder and the
locking sleeve can again be slide forward. If the
machine should happen to fail despite the care
taken in manufacture and testing, repair should
be carried out by an authorized customer services
