Three simple maintenance procedures that have the greatest effect on hydraulic system performance, 2.
efficiency, and life.
a. Maintain a clean, sufficient quantity of hydraulic oil of the proper type and viscosity.
b. Change filters.
c. Keep all connections tight, but not to the point of distortion, so that air is excluded from the system.
Oil Recommendation: 3. ISO 46 hydraulic oil.
Check oil level each time you use the machine. An oil level gauge is located on the left side of the 4.
hydraulic tank.
Hydraulic oil filter should be changed after the first 250 hours of use and then every 1,000 hours thereafter. 5.
When the hydraulic pump or the hydraulic motor on the HP pump is repaired, change the hydraulic oil and 6.
filter.
When the unit is serviced, check the belt tension, pulley alignment and the set screws on the pulleys. 7.
Adjust the tension of the belt by turning the nut on the adjustment bolt at the front of the hydraulic tank.

Paint Pump: 1. Speeflow Model 236-144. Refer to Speeflo’s Technical Data Manual for complete
instructions and details
a. Upper Section is the Hydraulic Motor Assembly. Lower (Fluid) Section is the Pump Assembly
b. Add Throat Seal Liquid (TSL) or Speeflo Lubrisolv to the cup at the bottom of the piston on the paint
pump daily or when the cup is empty. (See Pg. 11)
c. If pump cannot be stopped dead in the middle of both up and down strokes under pressure, service
valve seats or packings may be necessary.
d. The 144 Series Pump should receive a routine servicing after approximately 1,000 hours of use or
earlier if there is excessive leakage from the top packing or if pump strokes become faster on one
stroke or the other.
