The G8SXi and G12SXi modules are shown in Figure 1-5 .

The G8SXi module has eight standard MT-RJ connectors. The G12SXi module has
twelve standard MT-RJ connectors. Both modules support 1000BASE-SX. The default
configuration of the G8SXi and G12SXi modules is as follows:
• All ports are added to the default VLAN as untagged.
• All ports inherit the properties of the default VLAN (for example, protocol type,
VLANid, and so on).
• All ports are in auto-negotiation mode.
For supported media types and distances, refer to Table 1-1 .
