ATTENTION
y
Protect the power cord of the floodlight against ther-
mal and mechanical damage. In the event of damage,
immediately turn off the floodlight, disengage the vol-
tage in the grid and organise a repair at an authorised
service centre for the Extol® brand.
y
For safety reasons, do not cover the floodlight during
operation; circulation of ambient air must be provided
for. Likewise, do not install or operate the floodlight in
a confined small area with an insufficient volume and
circulation of air.
y
The floodlight has a non-replaceable light source,
which when not mechanically damaged has a lifespan
of more than 30,000 hours and thus under normal
circumstances it is not necessary to remove the floodli-
ght‘s front cover.
CONNECTING TO A POWER SOURCE AND
TURNING ON
•
WARNING
y
The floodlight is connected to the power supply
by means of a power cord with a standard plug
intended for 230 V ~50 Hz sockets.
y
The floodlight can be connected to a voltage
in the range specified in the chapter with the
technical specifications. Prior to connecting the
floodlight, check that the above specified vol-
tage is in the grid.
y
The floodlight must be connected to a power soc-
ket with its circuit protected by a residual current
device (RCD) with a breaking current of 30 mA.
y
If the connection (power cord) of the floodlight is
repaired in any way with respect to the specific conne-
ction requirements, all modifications and connections
must be performed by a person with electrical quali-
fications (i.e. a knowledgeable person) according to
current norms EN 50110-1, IEC 60050-195 and EN 50110-
2 and EN 61140. In the event of any modifications to the
power cord leading to the floodlight and its connection,
the manufacturer cannot bear any responsibility for
non-professional work.
•
ATTENTION
y
The connection of the floodlight to the el. power source
must be permanently protected against the entry
of water, high moisture or snowfall or thermal and
mechanical damage. The IP 65 protection level of the
floodlight does not apply to the floodlight‘s connection
to the power source when the same level of protection
is not provided!
y
Do not locate the floodlight on a flammable surface.
The floodlight must not be used in an environment
where there is a risk of fire or explosion.
y
Always use the floodlight with an undamaged
protective front cover that prevents damage to
the LED diodes and its exposure to humidity/
water and dust. In the event that the floodlight
or power cord is damaged, immediately turn off
the power source, disconnect the floodlight and
replace it with an undamaged unit.
TURNING ON
y
Each floodlight is equipped with an on/off switch, so one
can use both floodlights at the same time or just one.
IV. Cleaning,
maintenance, repairs
y
In the event that the floodlight requires cleaning, first
unplug it from the el. power supply and allow it to
cool down. Do not use abrasive cleaning products and
organic solvents to clean the floodlight as this would
damage it.
y
Service adjustment or installation of the floodlight must
be performed with the power supply disconnected.
y
In the event that the power cord itself is damaged,
immediately disconnect it from the power cord without
voltage in the grid and have it replaced at an authorised
service centre for the Extol® brand.
y
In the event of damage to the protective front cover of the
floodlight, replace it with a new one. For safety reasons, it
is not possible to use the floodlight with a damaged pro-
tective front cover. If the user replaces the protective front
glass, the manufacturer can no longer guarantee the IP65
protection class with protection against the damaging
entry of water and dust because the manufacturer cannot
be responsible for the possible incorrect installation of the
protective front cover by the user.
When the protective cover is replaced, the same level of
protection must be ensured as in the original configu-
ration. The original gasket seal from the manufacturer
must be used. When the glass is replaced, the gasket
seal must be completely undamaged and untwisted.
The glass must have the same thickness as the original.
In the event that these requirements are not met, the
provided level of protection will be insufficient against
the entry of water and dust, and the floodlight must
not be exposed to rain, moisture or other form of water
entry and dangerous touching.
y
For warranty repairs, please contact the vendor from
whom you purchased the product and they will organi-
se repairs at an authorised service centre for the Extol®
brand. For a post warranty repair, please contact the
authorised service centre of the Extol® brand directly
(you will find the repair locations at the website at the
start of this user‘s manual).
