CO2 as indicator of
good indoor
climate The air which people breathe out contains CO2, and if several people are in an enclosed
space without sufficient ventilation, the level of CO2 in the room will increase.
CO2 is not a problem in itself, but it is measured because it gives a good indication of
air vitiation by human beings.
The measurement of the CO2 concentration can thus indicate whether the impact on the
air by persons in the room is being matched by the ventilation. The continuous
measurement of the CO2 level allows the ventilation to be adapted as required to the
number of people in the room, while simultaneously providing optimum energy
consumption.
The normal CO2 level in outdoor air in Denmark is estimated at approx. 350-400 ppm.
Function The CO2B sensor can be connected directly to all units with EXact2 control. The sensor
measures the CO2 level in the extract air/room air.
The measured level is converted in the sensor to an analogue signal (0-10V), and on
the basis of this signal, the unit ensures that the CO2 level in the room is kept at the
desired level set in the unit's control system.
