IDE2: Primary IDE Connector (40-pin block)
This connector supports the IDE2 hard disk ribbon cable. Use the cable
provided to connect the primary hard drive to the system motherboard.
Two hard disks can be connected to each connector. The first HDD is
referred to as the
Master
and the second HDD is referred to as the
Slave
.
For performance issues, we strongly suggest that CD-ROM drives or
DVD-ROM drives are NOT installed on the same IDE channel. This can
produce a drop in system performance.
SATA1/SATA2: Serial-ATA Port connector
This connector supports the provided Serial ATA hard disk cable. Use
the cable to connect the Serial ATA hard disk to the motherboard.
