Charge stages descrip#on:
1. Ba6ery recovery func on.
When low voltage (1.5-5V for 6V ba6ery and 7.5-10.5V for 12V ba6ery) is detected on the
connected ba6ery the charger automa cally switches to recovery mode. High frequency
pulses are used to recondi on the ba6ery. When the voltage reaches 5V/10.5V, the charger
will con nue to charge according to preselected programme.
2. Charging the ba6ery.
In this step the charger uses preselected programme with default current to charge the
ba6ery. Ba6ery voltage is con nuously monitored.
3. Topping up the ba6ery.
To prevent gas emission and or hea ng up of the ba6ery, charge current is gradually reduced
from 3.8A to about 0.5-0.8A towards the end of process.
4. End of charge, maintenance charge.
The charge process is terminated when the ba6ery voltage reaches cut-off value of
14.4V/14.8V for 12V ba6ery or 7.3V for 6V ba6ery. The charge state of the ba6ery is
con nuously monitored. When the self-discharge occurs, smart charge is reapplied
automa cally to maintain full charge state.
No#ce:
1. In case of a bad ba6ery connec on or other fatal error the charger stops opera ng. The
failure indicator will light up.
2. In case of a AC power source break / reconnec on, the charger will automa cally recover
and start recharging if necessary.
3. In case of a quick temperature increase, charger will reduce output power for maximum
safety. It protects the appliance from damages.
4. CBC-5 charger is equipped with a unique 9- stage charging scheme with improved
maintenance program when the charger is leR connected to a ba6ery for a longer me
periods. For details you can refer to the scheme on page 2. Last two stages are repeated
con nuously depending on ba6ery condi on, as long as the charger is connected to a ba6ery.
5. Regular supervision of charging process is advised.
Safety instruc#ons:
1. Read the instruc ons before using this charger.
2. The mains socket outlet must be close to the equipment and easily accessible.
3. This charger is intended for use only with 6V/12V ba6eries - VRLA, AGM, VLA, SLA, WET,
GEL, LEAD ACID. Always check ba6ery's manual for technical specifica on, charger
recommenda on and safety precau ons. A6emp ng to charge other types of ba6eries may
cause personal injury, damage to the charger or lead to a fire and/or explosion.
4. The charger is intended for indoor use only. Exposure to any liquids or moisture can cause
damage to the charger and ba6ery. Do not allow foreign objects to enter the charger. This
could result in electrical shock or fire.
5. Disconnect the charger from the power socket when not in use.
6. Never use an extension cord or any a6achment not recommended by the manufacturer.
7. Do not operate the charger if it has been subjected to shock or damage. Take it to a qualified
