4. Switch On
A brief start up sequence consists of a self test in
which all elements of the display are illuminated and
the software version is shown. What happens next
depends on one of two conditions;-
1.
The instrument is new and has been supplied
un-configured (go to section 4.1)
2.
The instrument has been supplied configured
in accordance with the Quick Start code (go to
section 4.3)
4.1 Initial
Configuration
If the controller has not previously been configured
it will start up showing the ‘Quick Configuration’
codes. This is a built in tool which enables you to
configure the input type and range, the output
functions and the display format.
The quick code consists of a ‘SET’ of five
characters. The upper section of the
display shows the set selected (in the
case of 3116 SET 1 only), the lower
section shows the five digits which
make up the set. Adjust these as follows:-
1.
Press any button

The first character will
change to a flashing ‘-‘.
2. Press

to change the flashing
character to the required code shown in the
quick code tables –see next page. Note: An
x
indicates that the option is not fitted.
3. Press

to scroll to the next character. If
you need to return to the first character press

When the last digit has been entered press

again,
the display will show

The controller will then automatically go to the
operator level.
