Safety information and warnings
The following safety instructions must be observed when wearing
EUROFLEX
®
protective aprons:
•
EUROFLEX
®
protective aprons may only be used with hand knives.
Machine-powered knives or knife blades, saws or other similar
tools are not permitted.
•
EUROFLEX
®
protective aprons do not protect against injuries to
those parts of the body that are not covered by the apron. If other
parts of the body need to be protected against stabbing or cutting
injuries, users should wear additional equipment of protective
clothing.
• Extremely pointed knives
with a blade width of 8 mm
or less (measured 20 mm
away from the point) may
not be used. 20 mm
Pointed knives with a blade
width between 8 mm and 12.5 mm should also not be used for safety
reasons.
•
EUROFLEX
®
protective aprons cannot offer full protection against
injuries, i.e. the point of a knife can penetrate through the
interlocking rings and cause minor injuries.
• Material contents: The interlocking rings on your
EUROFLEX
®
pro-
tective apron are made of AISI 316 L stainless steel. The straps
and belts are made of polypropylene and the plastic parts from
polyamide. Under certain circumstances, any one of these mate-
rials can cause an allergic skin reaction or sensitive skin.
• Before starting work, the user should check that the
EUROFLEX
®
protective apron is in good condition. Any defects should be
reported immediately to the supervisor. Typical damages include:
- Broken or missing rings
- Bent or nicked rings
- Corroded rings or fastening parts
- Worn rings
- Damages to the fastening parts (hooks, belts)
- Broken spring steel reinforced parts caused by unintended use
• The supervisor is responsible for withdrawing any defective pro-
tective clothing from circulation immediately and to find a suita-
ble replacement for the user.
