HDMI-Out Port
The HDMI-Out (
High-Definition Multimedia Interface
) port is an audio/video connector
interface for transmitting uncompressed digital streams. This allows you to connect an external
monitor, TV or Flat Panel Display etc. as a display device
(see
“Attaching Other Displays” on
page C - 31
) by means of a HDMI cable.
Note that HDMI carries both audio and video
signals.
Headphone-Out Jack
Headphones
or
speakers
may be connected through this jack.
Note
: Set your system’s volume
to a reduced level before connecting to this jack.
Microphone-In Jack
Plug an external microphone in to this jack to record on your computer.
Mini DisplayPort 1.2
The Mini DisplayPort is a miniaturized version of the DisplayPort, which is a digital display
interface standard that allows a digital audio/video interconnect, between the computer and its
external display or a home-theater system.
RJ-45 LAN Jack
This port supports LAN (Network) functions.
Note
: Broadband (e.g. ADSL) modems usually connect to the LAN port.
S/PDIF-Out Jack
This S/PDIF (
Sony/Philips Digital Interface Format
) Out Port allows you to connect your DVD-
capable PC to a Dolby AC-3 compatible receiver for “5.1” or ‘dts’ surround sound.
