Check and adjusting the chain lubrication
ATTENTION!
Never work without chain lubrication! Always check the chain lubrication before starting
work!
• Adequate lubrication of the saw chain during cutting operations is essential to minimize
friction with the guide bar. Your chain saw is equipped with an automatic oiler system.
The oiler automatically delivers the proper amount of oil to the bar and chain. The oil
tank level can be checked in the oil inspection window (5) on the right side of the chain
saw. Oil tank is full when oil is at the top of the slot.
• Running the saw DRY or with TOO LITTLE OIL will decrease cutting efficiency, shorten
chain saw life, and cause rapid dulling of the chain and excessive wear of the bar from
overheating. Too little is evidenced by smoke or bar discoloration. Replenish the oil in
due time before the oil tank is empty.
Proper Techniques for basic felling, limbing and cross-cutting
NOTE: Note your country’s law regarding felling work and contact the appropriate
authority for more information.
Felling a tree
• When cross-cutting /bucking and felling operations are being performed by two or more
persons at the same time, the felling operations should be separated from the cross-
cutting/bucking operation by a distance of at least twice the height of the tree being
felled. Tress should not be felled in a manner that would endanger any person. Strike any
utility line or cause any property damage. If the tree does make contact with any utility
line, the company should be notified immediately.
• The chain saw operator should keep on the uphill side of the terrain as the tree is likely
to roll or slide downhill after it is felled.
• As escape path should be planned and cleared as necessary before cuts are started. The
