7.6. Useful range in special ambient conditions
In ambient conditions in which mist, rain, smoke or dust occurs, the range must be corrected. You can find the correction
factors in the following table.
Table 5: Correction factor
Fc
Ambient conditions
Correction factor Fc
Mist
0.25
Vapors
0.50
Dust
0.50
Dense smoke
0.25
The correction can be calculated using the following formula.
Pu = Pm x Fc

ATTENTION!
Loss of the safety function due to the formation of condensed water
Condensed water can disable the device’s protective function
Avoid sudden temperature fluctuations in the place of use
Clean your system regularly.
7.7. Use of several safeguards (multiple systems)
WARNING
Malfunction, loss of the safety function due to optical interference
Light beams from other transmitters may be received due to incorrect positioning.
Transmitters and receivers must be positioned such that the beams emitted by a transmitter can
be received only by the related receiver.
If several systems are used, it must be ensured that the function of the transmitters and receivers is not degraded.
The following positioning examples can be used:
No.
Description
A
Positioning two systems side-by-side
B
Positioning two systems above each other
C
Positioning two systems in an L shape
