4.3 Re-programming
• The
group assignment
can be easily changed at a later stage at the rotary knobs.
In doing so, the EPL modules must
not
be disconnected from the power supply or reset.
• A reset should only be carried out if an EPL module needs to be programmed for
another domain
. Press and hold the Reset button for around 6 s. The
Conf. LED
will then
flicker briefly. A few seconds after releasing the
Reset button
, the
Conf. LED
will flash
regularly, indicating that the EPL module has been reset to the default setting.
• Continue by following the instructions under
Point 4.1 Initial Activation
or
Point 4.2 Extension
of an Existing Domain
.
4.4 Final Tasks
• Close all switch and junction boxes.
• Carry out a functional test and check the group assignments against the programming
table.
5 • PRACTICAL ADVICE
The 230 V supply was not originally intended for data transmission and can therefore
attenuate the signals of EPL modules.
The ESYLUX POWERLINE-System EPL is designed to work reliably even in the case of
large-scale attenuation in the 230 V supply.
If, however, several EPL modules are unable to communicate with each other, you have
the following options:
• If all
Conf. LEDs
go out when the
Prog. button
is pressed, check that rotary knobs “
g
” and
“
e
” are set to the correct position. All EPL modules assigned to each other must belong
to the same respective group “
g
” and “
e
” (
see Point 4.1
Activation/Programming).
• If several
Conf. LEDs
continue to flash once the
Prog. button
has been pressed, proceed
sas follows:
- Check that any EBs and electronic transformers present are connected properly.
Experience has shown that the incorrect installation of these devices can cause
interference. Follow the relevant installation instructions.
- Place the EPL modules that are not connecting with each other, on the same
phase/phase conductor by re-wiring in the distribution board.
- Install phase couplers if the re-wiring outlined above is not possible.
- For each phase/phase conductor, fit a band-stop filter in the supply line to the EPL
installation area in order to prevent external interference.
