9. Configure the ESI RF network
— use SUITE remotes and terminal emulator.
a. Use the SUITE remote to configure motors.
ESI RF motors
: Toggle Motor Direction, Set/Adjust/Clear Limits and set the PRESET.
RQ motors / Standard motors
(connected to the ESI RF RQ Transceiver): set the PRESET.
b. Use the terminal emulator or automation system and the RQ commands listed in
Appendix C
to
set scenes in the ESI RF network.
NOTE:
Enter RQ commands in the terminal emulator while at the Device List screen (
Ctrl-T
).
IMPORTANT
: If you are
not
using a SUITE remote in the ESI RF network, you must set limits
on ESI RF motors
before
joining the RF motors to the network, in order to use
RQ commands from the terminal emulator to configure and control the ESI RF
motors
.
c. Use the Device Menu commands in the ESI RF Bridge, listed in
Appendix E,
to further manage
the RF network:
Configure and Query the SUITE Remote
Manage Channels
Delete Devices
Identify Device
10. AUTOMATION SYSTEM: If the ESI RF Bridge will be connected to an automation system after the
ESI RF network is set up, the Echo (On) and Line Termination character (CR+LF) that were turned
ON previously in the
ESI RF Bridge’s Configuration Menu must be turned OFF using the terminal
emulator. See Steps below:
To reverse Echo (On) and Line Termination character (CR+LF) in the terminal emulator:
a. Press
Ctrl-C
to enter the Configuration Menu.
b.
Press the “2” key.
c. Press
the “3” key.
d.
Press the “0” key to exit the Configuration Menu.
11. Verify that the Yellow LED on the ESI RF Bridge is OFF. If the Yellow LED is flashing, press the
Network Button once to turn the LED off.
12. Disconnect the PC from the ESI RF Bridge.
13. Connect the automation system to the ESI RF Bridge.
14. Put the SUITE remotes into User Mode, for handoff to the customer.
