When  connecting  your  REDi to your PC’s COM port, the unit will automatically 
turn on. However, your REDi will switch off after the time defined by the Auto Off 
settings saved within your REDi. When attempting  to communicate with your 
REDi, make sure the unit is switched on and the auto off feature is set to a time 
that allows for the completion of REDi to PC interaction. 

5.3 - Software Setup 

Once the ESCORT Console is installed, you can open the software by clicking on 
the ESCORT icon on your desktop, or selecting ESCORT Console from All

In ESCORT Console you can choose both the COM port the software uses for 
communication with your REDi and loggers, as well as the products you are 
using. In the Edit menu choose the Options command, and then  go to the 
Communications tab to choose the COM port you have connected the REDi to. 
Further, check in the Products tab that REDi was selected as one of the product
