5 - Software 

For help regarding the use of ESCORT Console software, please refer to the 
Help file in ESCORT Console. This help file is accessible through the command 
‘Help Topics’ in the  ‘Help’  menu and contains the full manual for ESCORT 
products.  

5.1 - Installation 

In order to configure your REDi or download logger data stored in the REDi to 
your PC, you need to install ESCORT Console software on your PC. Further, 
your PC requires a serial port (COM port, DB9). If your PC has a USB port but no 
COM port, you can use a USB to serial port adapter (available from your local 
electronics store) to create a COM port. Please follow the installation instructions 
supplied with the adapter  
 
You  can download ESCORT Console from the ESCORT DL  website on the 
Internet 

http://www.escortdataloggers.com

.    Alternatively, you can purchase the 

ESCORT Console software CD (Product code JA-SWP-CON) through your local 
distributor. Please follow the instructions provided on the website or the CD insert 
respectively.  

5.2 - Connecting your REDi 

Please use the REDi serial port connector, supplied  with  your  REDi unit (see 
chapter 1.3 and 3.3) to connect your REDi with a DB9 COM port on your PC.
