ROUTINE SNOW BLOWER MAINTENANCE
PTO DRIVELINE SHEAR BOLT REPLACEMENT
DISCHARGE CHUTE ROTATOR ADJUSTMENT
The PTO driveline shear coupler is located on
the tractor PTO coupler.
1. Align the holes in the coupler flange.
2. On all models install one 3/8” x 1” grade 2
bolts with lock nuts.
IMPORTANT: Shear bolts are used to protect
the blower from severe damage.
NEVER USE GRADE 8 BOLTS!
The auger drive is shear bolt protected in the event
the auger should strike a solid object. The auger
drive shaft shear coupler is located on the left side
of the gearbox, under a shield. If sheared, align the
holes in the coupler flange and install a 5/16” x 1-
1/4” NC Grade 2 bolt (B) and lock nut (A).
If the shaft and coupler need to be separated,
unscrew the grease zerk (C) and release the
retaining steel ball through the grease zerk hole.
Reverse these steps to reassemble.
Hydraulic Rotation
To adjust the discharge chute roller chain:
1. Remove the two bolts securing the chute
rotator chain shield. Remove the shield.
2. Loosen the bolt and nut securing the orbit
motor. Take all of the slack out of the chain
by pivoting the motor outward. Tighten the
bolt and nut.
3. Reinstall the sprocket and chain shield.
IMPORTANT: Do not overtighten roller chains.
Tighten only enough to remove slack.
