7 Trouble shooting
This part of the document describes the problems that may be encountered during the GenTrack 23e
configuration.
7.1 Communication problem between the GenTrack 23e and the USB link
If the GenTrack 23e does not reply to the AT commands via the USB link, see the table hereunder for the
possible causes and solutions.

Re-place the unit on the charger in order to stop
the quick flashing of the charge Led situated on
the charger base.
Ensure that the CPU Led is flashing (1hz) few
seconds after having put it on the charger.
Is the GenTrack 23e correctly
powered?
Ensure that the modem is connected to an
external regulated power source and supplies a
tension in the correct range (paragraph
Electrical characteristics
).
Returns nothing
Is the USB cable connected on
both sides (PC side and multi-
functions connector)?
Check the connection of the USB cable.
Is the virtual COM port affected to
the USB port correctly selected in
the communication terminal?
Check the affectation of the COM port used and
the possible conflicts identified by the operating
system.
Returns nothing or
random characters
Is the communication terminal
correctly configured on the PC?
Ensure that the configuration of the
communication terminal corresponds with the
one of the GenTrack 23e :
Speed = 115200 bps
Data bits = 8
Parity = none
Stop bits = 1
Flow control = None
Is there another application
running that creates a conflict
during the access to the
communication port?
Close the conflicting application.
