Monitoring and Verifying Front-Panel Port Connections
When
installing
Mini
‐
GBICs
in
the
front
‐
panel
ports
1
through
18,
you
may
need
to
select
a
group
of
ports
to
verify
the
port
operation.
Initially
GROUP
1
LED
is
green,
indicating
the
status
RX/TX
LEDs
are
showing
the
activity
of
the
Group
1
ports
(1
through
6).
To
view
the
receive
and
transmit
activity
on
Group
2
ports
(7
through
12),
or
Group
3
ports
(13
through
18),
press
the
GROUP
SELECT
button
for
less
than
one
second
(see
Figure 3
‐
7
)
to
step
to
the
next
GROUP
of
ports.
The
receive
and
transmit
activity
for
that
group
of
segments
is
then
indicated
by
the
RX
and
TX
LEDs
for
each
segment.

monitoring

front
‐
panel
port
status
as
described
above,
the
status
of
the
six
NEM
ports
is
indicated
by
the
RX/TX
LEDs
on
the
NEM
front
panel
without
the
need
to
select
them,
