Soldering Cables:
Improper soldering could overload esc overload decrease durability. Below are a few soldering tips.
Cut off the motor's pre-tinned cable wire end, open new cable ends (about 0.5mm to 0.8mm) and apply solder.
Use 60W or lower soldering iron with small to medium size iron tips.
Clean the soldering pads using 90% or above isopropyl alcohol or contact cleaner, then pre-tinned each pad.
PCB board contain heavy copper trace it has fast heating distribution. Do not apply heat on each pad over 2 seconds; it
may lose the components besides. Ideally, allow the PCB to cool down before the subsequent soldering. Please do not
attempt to cool down the esc by shaking it, and let it sit in place to cool down.
Do not use silver-type soldering material. It is too strong to tear off the PCB copper pad during car vibrations or
collisions.
Do not let the solder come into contact with electronic components.
If you are unfamiliar with soldering, please get assistance from people with good soldering skills. You may request
Ensotech to pre-solder the cable if ordering from Ensotech online shop. Just leave us a message during the checkout
process.
Double-check that the positive and negative are identical to the battery connector also the motor A/B/C phases.
Do not use cable wires that are too thick and cannot accommodate the soldering slot.
No thicker than AWG 16 is more than enough to give the best current flow.
Battery Connector:
Ensotech suggests not using the JST-type battery connector, which has some disadvantages.
High Resistance
Not designed for high-current types of equipment.
The tiny pins inside the socket easy tear and wear, instantaneously interrupting the power supply (the car suddenly
stops on the track).
An unsecured wabble pin creates an internal power surge or spikes.
External Capacitor
All Ensotech ESC already builds in a capacitor, and an external capacitor doesn't require.
Since Swave-W3 features with BEC adjustment using
Android Apps version 2.9.5 or later
IOS Apps version 1.2 or later
If you are still planning to use EnsoBluth and EnsoBluth-2 Bluetooth on
Swave-W3, first of all, you need to use EnsoBluth-MT or UARTLINK-II & III
programming cable to adjust the BEC voltage to 5V successfully, then turn off
the esc before swap to EnsoBluth or EnsoBluth-2.
Note: BEC supply voltage to Bluetooth adaptor and servo simultaneously,
under this circumstance the servo will operate by 5V.
