flag and copy any non-zero value of the
OEM_NAME_WRITE
register to the
OEM_NAME
register and any non-zero value of the
MANUFACTURER_ID_WRITE
reg-
ister to the
MANUFACTURER_ID
register.
After that, PTM 216B will clear the

6.7.8
OPTIONAL_DATA register
The
OPTIONAL_DATA
register can be used to specify up to 4 byte of custom data that will be
transmitted as part of each data telegram. This optional data can store user-specific or ap-
plication-specific information.
The size of the
OPTIONAL DATA
field is specified by the
OPTIONAL_DATA_SIZE
field in the
Con-
figuration
register. The following settings of
OPTIONAL_DATA_SIZE
are supported:
0b00
: 0 byte (No optional data, default)
0b01
: 1 byte
0b10
: 2 byte
0b11
: 4 byte
If the size of the
OPTIONAL_DATA_SIZE
field is set to a non-zero value in the
Configuration
register then PTM 216B will read the corresponding amount of data from the
OPTIONAL_DATA
register beginning with the least significant byte (byte 0 –
OPTIONAL_DATA_0
).
Note that using the optional data feature requires additional energy for the radio telegram
transmission and might therefore reduce the total number of redundant telegrams which
are transmitted.
