Connecting to the Console
After you have installed the capt
2
web Console driver as described in section
7.1
you can connect to the targets USB
Console using a simple terminal program such as
HyperTerminal
included in
MS Windows
or
putty
. Connect to your
target using a speed of 115200 baud, 8 data bits, no parity, 1 stop bit and no flow control. If the connection was
established type "help" to display all possible commands.
7.3
Using the Console
Once connected to the USB console, there is a set of commands available to configure the capt
2
web device and to
display internal information:
help
Displays all available console menu commands.
cfg
Switch to configuration settings level of the menu.
list
List all configuration settings with their names, values and a description.
To change a configuration setting, use the web interface settings panel. See chapter
6
for details.
store
Save the current configuration to non-volatile memory.
If a setting value is displayed with an asterisk (*) in the list of configuration settings (command
list
),
this means that the setting was updated but not stored to the non-volatile memory of capt
2
web . If using
the command
store
, all (!) settings will be stored to non-volatile memory and remain even when
power to capt
2
web is lost.
restore
Restore factory default settings.
This command deletes all changes to the settings and reloads the factory default settings. Note, that this
affects only the settings but not the firmware, in case a new firmware was installed.
eth
Show information about the Ethernet state.
This command dumps extended information about the Ethernet driver.
ip
Show IP address configuration.
Without an argument, the current IP address in use is shown.
If automatic IP address configuration is used, the address printed out here is the address assigned by the
DHCP server. If resolving the address through DHCP fails, capt
2
web falls back to its statically configured
IP address.
set

Set a new IP address , the subnet mask (e.g. 255.255.255.0) is optional.
auto
Automatically configure IP address using DHCP.
