7 Interfaces and Options
7.1 Optical (infrared) interface
For communication with the optical interface, an optical readout head is required. The readout head and the
required "Device Monitor" software are available optionally.
The optical (infrared) interface is activated by the automatic transmission of a header (according to EN 13757-3).
Baud rate: 2,400 Bd.
After that, communication with the meter is possible for 4 seconds. After each valid communication, the counter
remains open for further 4 seconds. The display is then deactivated.
The number of readings per day via the optical interface is limited. With daily readout, at least 4 communications
are possible; at less frequent readout, the possible number of communications increases.
7.2 Radio interface wireless M-Bus EN 13757-3, -4
The radio interface is used for transmitting meter data (absolute values).
General information radio interface:
The installation of the meters between or behind pipelines as well as any metallic material directly above the
housing must be avoided.
