1 Usage and Function
The electronic water meter WaterStar M serves to record the amount of water consumption in drinking water
systems.

3 General Information

Relevant standards for the use of water meters: DIN EN 14154, Directive 2014/32/EU, Annex I and MI-004
and the respective relevant calibration regulations of the country in which the meter is used.

For selection, installation, commissioning, monitoring and maintenance of the device, DIN 1988, EN 806,
DIN EN 14154 and DIN EN ISO 4064, as well as the relevant DVGW guidelines for compliance with hygiene
must be observed.

The regulations for electrical installations must be observed.
-
The product meets the essential requirements laid down in the EU Directive on Electromagnetic
Compatibility (EMC Directive) for equipment (2014/30/EU).

The meter's calibration-relevant safety symbols must not be damaged or removed - otherwise the warranty
and calibration period of the device will be void!

The measuring stability of the meters is only given if the water quality complies with the conditions of
AGFW recommendation FW-510 and VDI 2035.

The meter has left the factory in perfect condition. All installation work may only be carried out by a
trained and authorized professional.

Devices with activated radio must not be transported by air.
-
For cleaning, use a cloth moistened with water.
-
For protection against damage and pollution, the meter must only be removed from its packaging
immediately before installation.

If several meters are installed in one unit, it should be taken care that all meters have the same installation
conditions as possible.

All instructions given in the data sheet, operating instructions and application notes of the meter must be

The brass used contains more than 0.1 % lead (subject to the permissible upper limit of the applicable
German Federal Environmental Agency list).

Replaced or defective parts are to be disposed of in an environmentally friendly manner.

4 Installation
4.1 Installation of the
WaterStar M
surface-mounted meter

Close the shut-off valve in the supply line.

Remove the intermediate piece or the old water meter and check the seal seat and the new flat gaskets as
well as the new meter before installation to ensure that only damage-free, clean components are installed.

Install the water meter with the new set of seals as shown in the illustration, observing the flow direction
arrow on the water meter. In the case of flush-mounted installation boxes, the O-rings on the sliding pieces
