Operation
Starting the
generator
19
•
Ventilation must be adequate.
DANGER!
Electric shock, static discharges.
To enable the safety devices (residual current circuit
breakers), the generator should be earthed, if possible.
For this, use a cable as an earthing conductor (at least
2.5 mm
2
in diameter) that is connected to an earthing
conductor (such as a metal water or drain pipe, or
earthing rod).
DANGER!
Operating fluids can burn or explode.
•
Prevent motor oil and fuel from leaking.
•
Do not use starting aids.
•
Keep open fire and sparks away.
1. Inspect the device according to Maintenance plan (see p.
24).
2. Set motor switch to ON.
•
If the motor is cold, turn the choke lever to the left
(see Fig. 12 (3)).
•
If the motor has already warmed up, leave the choke
lever in home position (see Fig. 12 (4)).
3. Set the fuel tap to ON (see Fig. 12 (2)).
4. Use the cord handle to start the motor (this is easier
when bracing oneself with the other hand).
The motor starts.
5. Wait about 5 to 20 seconds until the motor runs. Depend-
ing on the external temperature, slowly bring the choke
back to home position (see Fig. 12 (4)).
Now the motor will run stably.
Don't just let go of the starting cord after starting — guide it
by hand into its original position.
