Wait after previous operation for about five minutes before checking until the
engine oil has gathered again in the oil sump to obtain a correct measure-
ment.
CAUTION!
The engine and operating equipment on the generator can get very hot
while running.
Risk of burns
► Never touch any engine parts (in particular the exhaust system) for a few min-
utes after ceasing operation.
► Allow the engine to cool off for at least five minutes before changing or check-
ing the engine oil.

Checking the oil
level
1. Undo the orange locking screw
and remove it from the filling opening.
CAUTION: The oil dipstick attached to the screw is wetted with oil.
2. Use a lint-free cloth to remove the oil from the dipstick.
3. Screw the clean dipstick completely back in and then immediately back out.
4. Read off the oil level on the dipstick. It should not be lower than the middle
in-between the “L“ and “H“ markings and never above the “H“ marking (see
Image Fig. 8-3 Oil dipstick).
