Locking/unlocking operation
Once you have entered all the parameters, you can lock your entries against unauthorized and
undesired access.
Locked operation is indicated as follows:
• By the
symbol on the onsite display
• The parameters are grayed out in FieldCare and the HART handheld terminal, which means they
cannot be edited. Indicated in the corresponding "Locking" parameter.
Parameters which refer to how the display appears, e.g. "Language" and "Display contrast", can still
be altered.

Note!
If operation is locked by means of the DIP switch, you can only unlock operation again by means of
the DIP switch. If operation is locked by means of the operating menu, you can only unlock
operation again using the operating menu.
The "Operator code" parameter is used to lock and unlock the device.
The release code is defined in the "Code definition" parameter.

• To lock: Enter a number
the release code (value range: 1 to 9999).
• To unlock: Enter the release code.

Note!
The release code is "0" in the order configuration. Another release code can be defined in
the "Code definition" parameter.
If the user has forgotten the release code, the release code can be visible by entering the
number "5864".
