Minimum Wall and Ceiling Clearances (Figure 2)
Sidewall and Back Clearances: The clearance from the
inside of the fireplace to any combustible wall should not be
less than 2".
Ceiling Clearances: The ceiling height should not be less
than 36" from the top of the hood.
Mantel Clearances: Ventless fireplace models must use the
hood supplied with the fireplace. If a combustible mantel is
installed, it must meet the clearance requirements detailed
in Figure 2..

Do not attach combustible material to the mantel of your fireplace.
This is a fire hazard.

No greeting cards, stockings or ornamentation of any type should be
placed on or attached to the fireplace. This is a heating appliance.
The flow of heat can ignite combustibles.
