Safety instructions
Before using charger, read the instruction
manual.
Observe the safety instructions provided in
this manual.
• The charger is designed to charge only batteries of
corresponding technical specifications. Do not use it for
any other purposes. Always follow the recommendations
of the battery manufacturer.
• Never attempt to charge batteries that are not rechar-
geable.
• Before use, check the charger cables. Make sure that
the cables are not cracked and that their isolation and
protection against excess flexion is not cracked. Charger
with damaged cable must be returned to the seller. A
damaged power cord must be replaced only by the seller.
• Never charge a damaged battery.
• Never charge a frozen battery.
• When charging never place the charger on the battery.
• Always provide for proper ventilation during charging.
• Do not cover the charger.
• The battery can release explosive gases while being
charged. Prevent sparks close to the battery. When
batteries are reaching the end of their life, there may
be internal sparking.
• All batteries lose capacity sooner or later. Thanks to its
advanced control system the charger usually detects
that the battery is failing and adapts its care to this
condition. However, unexpected defects may always
occur. Do not leave the battery unattended for long
periods while it is being charged.
• Make sure the cable is not pinched andtaht it is not in
contact with hot surfaces or sharp edges.
• Battery acid is corrosive (H2SO4 solution). If the electro-
lyte comes into contact with skin or eyes, immediately
rinse with plenty of water and seek medical assistance.
• Before you leave the charger unattended and connected
for long periods, always check that it has switched to
trickle charge. If the charger does not switch to STEP
7–40 hours, this is an indication of a problem. Manually
disconnect the charger.
• During use and charging the batteries consume water.
For batteries, where water can be added regularly check
the electrolyte level. If the level is low add distilled water.
• The charger is not intended for use by children or persons
who can not read this manual and understand it; these
persons must not use the device without supervision by
a person who can guarantee a safe use of the charger.
Store and use the charger outside the reach of children
and make sure that children can not play with it.
• Connection to the power mains must comply with the
rules and regulations for electrical installations appli-
cable in a given country.
