2. Manual setting of the connection to U25
If you want to use other ways to connect U25, you have to
set it via the web interface. Connect to U25 according to the
following instructions.
Examples of connection and operating modes
Fig. 3
Access point mode
The Ethernet port works like LAN, U25 is connected to the
home gateway or ADSL modem via a
UTP cable
. Computers
from your home network have wireless connection to U25. IP
addresses are allocated by the home gateway, router or ADSL
modem. In the computer connected to U25 the IP address
can be set by means of DHCP. The factory default SSID of
the wireless network is
U25
(can be changed). The default
password for connection to U25 is
123456789
.
Uses for this type of connection: hotel, household etc.
Home gateway / router mode
The Ethernet port works like a WAN port and it is directly
connected to Internet via a
UTP cable
. Computers from your
home network have wireless connection to U25. IP addresses
are allocated to the computers in the inner network by U25
via its own DHCP server from the series
192.168.10.1 –
192.168.10.255
. NAT translation of IP addresses is on.
The inner LAN network is isolated form the WAN network.
The default
SSID
of the wireless network is
U25
(can be
changed). The default password for the connection to U25
is
123456789
.
Use of this type of connection: hotel, household, office etc.

WiFi signal repeater / booster mode
The repeater operating mode is used to
extend the signal
range of an existing WiFi network
from AP or a wireless
router. Computers can be connected to U25 via a cable
or wireless connection. U25 is connected to Internet and
inner network wirelessly. The IP address of DNS is allocated
by the original router or a home gateway. U25 relays all
incoming and outgoing communication unchanged to the
extended network.
Use of this type of connection: bigger houses, villas, trans-
mission among buildings, gardens etc.
WISP repeater mode (repeater with an
integrated router)
The repeater operating mode is used to
extend the signal
range of an existing WiFi network
from AP or a wireless
router. Computers can be connected to U25 via a cable or
wireless connection. U25 is connected to Internet and inner
network wirelessly. IP addresses are allocated to computers
of the inner network by U25 via its own DHCP server of the
series
192.168.10.1 – 192.168.10.255
. NAT translation
of IP addresses is on.
Use of this type of connection: bigger houses, villas, trans-
mission among buildings, gardens etc.

WiFi client mode
In this mode U25 works as a wireless adapter and it can
be used to connect appliances without an integrated WiFi
network card to a WiFi network. PC is connected to U25 via
a solid UTP cable and it has a wireless connection to a home
WiFi gateway or router. IP addresses are allocated by the home
gateway, router or ADSL modem. In a computer connected to
U25 the IP address can be set by means of DHCP. Usually this
mode can be used to connect multimedia appliances such as
Smart TV, older PC, satellite receivers.
Use of this type of connection: IP cameras, older PC, Smart
TV, satellite receivers.
WISP client (client with an integrated router)
In this mode U25 works as a wireless adapter and it can
be used to connect appliances without an integrated WiFi
network card to a WiFi network. PC is connected to U25 via
a solid UTP cable and it has a wireless connection to a home
WiFi gateway or router. IP addresses to the computers in the
inner network are allocated by U25 via its own DHCP server of
the series
192.168.10.1 – 192.168.10.255
. NAT translation
of IP addresses is on. In a computer connected to U25 the IP
address can be set by means of DHCP. Usually, this mode can
be used to connect multimedia appliances such as Smart TV,
