DESCRIPTION

FAILURE TO READ AND FOLLOW ALL INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY BEFORE
INSTALLING OR OPERATING THIS CONTROL COULD CAUSE PERSONAL
INJURY AND/OR PROPERTY DAMAGE.

Type 829A-832 Relay has double-pole, single-throw
switch action.

This Relay permits the use of a sensitive low voltage
thermostat to control a line voltage heating or cooling
load. It is especially suitable for use on hot water heating
systems, and may be used for boilers with tankless
domestic coil as well as for boilers without a domestic
coil.

PRECAUTIONS

To prevent electrical shock and/or equipment
damage, disconnect electric power to system, at
main fuse or circuit breaker box, until installation
is complete.

If in doubt about whether your wiring is millivolt, line, or
low voltage, have it inspected by a qualified heating and
air conditioning contractor, electrician, or someone famil-
iar with basic electricity and wiring.

Do not exceed the specification ratings.

All wiring must conform to local and national electrical
codes and ordinances.

This control is a precision instrument, and should be
handled carefully. Rough handling or distorting compo-
nents could cause the control to malfunction.

CAUTION

Do not use on circuits exceeding specified
voltages. Higher voltages will damage control
and could cause shock or fire hazard.

SPECIFICATIONS

PRINCIPLE OF OPERATION

The 829A-832 relay is provided with a self-contained
transformer with a low voltage secondary output for
energizing the relay coil.

Line voltage lines should be connected to terminals
marked “1 & 2” for power to reach the transformer.

Closing the thermostat circuit energizes the relay coil
which in turn closes the circuit between terminals 1 and
3 and 1 and 4, also closing millivolt or low voltage circuit
between X and X.

Opening the thermostat circuit de-energizes the relay
coil, breaking the circuit between terminals 1 and 3 and

1 and 4,  also breaking millivolt or low voltage circuit
between X and X.
