Using the Field Communicator
Overview
Refer to figure 15 for the Overview menu tree.
Check Status
Check Status shows device and communications
status.
Primary Purpose Variables
Switch Status—indicates the position of the
monitored equipment (e.g. valve) as a discrete
value; OPEN, CLOSED, or PARTIALLY OPEN.
Time Since Reset— indicate the time (in hours,
minutes, and seconds) since the last time the 4310
received a restart command.

Device Information

Manufacturer—identifies the manufacturer of
the instrument.

Model—indicates the device type.

HART Universal Rev.—indicates the HART
Universal Revision.
D
Device Revision—indicates the revision
number of the software for communication between
the Field Communicator and the instrument.

Firmware Revision—indicates the revision
number of the firmware in the instrument.
D
Hardware Revision—indicates the revision
number of the electrical circuitry within the
instrument printed wiring board.

DD Revision—indicates the revision level of the
device description.

Radio Information
Manufacturer—identifies the manufacturer of the
radio.
Model—indicates the radio model.
Device Revision—indicates the revision level of the
radio.
Hardware Revision—indicates the revision level of
the radio hardware.
Firmware Revision—indicates the revision level of
the radio firmware.
