Remove and install a DIMM
CAUTION

Make sure you are wearing a grounding wrist strap to avoid ESD damage to the
equipment.
l
As required, place all components on an ESD-free work surface.
l
For replacement or upgrade DIMMs, use only DIMMs from a Data Domain memory
spares kit.
Note
To replace a DIMM, identify the location of the failed DIMM inside the memory riser.
Procedure
1. Determine the memory riser that has the failed DIMM and remove that memory riser
for replacement.
2. Push the release button on the memory risers to release the ejector handles. See the
location of the release button in the picture in this section.
3. Remove the riser card by pulling both the ejector handles upward.
