3.8 REPLACING THE BATTERY

A control unit battery that is no longer able to keep its charge shall be replaced by the installer with an identical
one, in order not to affect correct operation of the devices.
To replace the battery, proceed as follows:
1. actuate the maintenance status, as described in paragraph

3.1 maINTENANCE PROCEDURE

, then open the

control unit.

2. Disconnect the battery to be replaced and remove it from the control unit.
3. Fit the new battery into the control unit and connect it by means of the special connectors, paying attention to

correct polarity.

4. Close the control unit again.

WARNING!

The disposal of lead batteries is governed by strict law regulations. Lead batteries shall
therefore disposed of at authorized centres.

It is recommended that the batteries of the entire system (self-powered sirens, controllers, etc.) are replaced at the
same time, since the average life of lead batteries is nearly the same, regardless of their capacity or intended use.
