Mode 2
This operating mode will be used for activation and
control of electro-mechanic devices (e.g. dumpers)
which require some time to switch from the idle to
the active condition: in this case a NO contact of the
equipment must be connected in parallel with the
end-of-line resistor of input 1 (Fig. 3).
Externally powered module
The same behaviour described for mode 1
applies, but for the following difference: when the
module is activated, the supervised output is
immediately activated and input 1 must be short-
circuited by an external contact within a
programmed amount of time (Feedback delay) in
order to indicate the status change of the
controlled equipment.
If the input is not short-circuited within the
Feedback time, fault n° 16 will be signalled to the
control panel.
When the module with active outputs undergoes a
reset, input 1 is not controlled for the Feedback
time, thus allowing the restore of the reset state of
the controlled equipment.
Externally un-powered module
The actuator behaves as in the externally powered
module, the only difference being that the
supervised output works as an alarm repetition
output.
Mode 3
:
This operating mode will be used for activation and
control of systems (e.g. evacuation) requiring
specific procedures of activation, deactivation and
control: in this case a NO contact of the equipment
must be connected in parallel with the end-of-line
resistor of input 1 (Fig. 1).
This operating mode requires the use of the
external power supply.
In idle condition, the actuator checks the presence
of the 10K
end-of-line resistor at input 1 and if
the input is opened the module signals fault n° 13
to the control panel.
In activated condition, the actuator activates the
supervised activation output in an impulsive or
stable way, then waits for input 1 to be short-
circuited within 10 seconds; if this does not occur,
the module signals fault n° 16 to the control panel.
After 10 seconds, if the short-circuit condition of
input 1 ends, the module signals fault n° 102 to the
control panel.
At the next reset of the module, the supervised
output, if programmed to be always active, will be
released and a reset pulse of programmable
duration will be performed on the deactivation
relay output.
When the actuator is configured in operating mode
0, 1 or 2, the following parameters can be
programmed:
the delay between the reception of the
activation command and the actual activation
of the relay (Hold-Off delay)
the delay between the reception of the
activation command and the actual activation
of the supervised output (only for modes 0 and
1 - Feedback delay).
These delays are expressed in seconds and can
cover a range between 0
255 in 1 second steps.
For the operating mode 3, the following timers are
defined:
Supervised activation output:
If activation time of supervised output = 0, the
output is always active
If activation time of supervised output differs
from 0, pulse duration can last from 1
10 in 1
second step.
Deactivation relay output:
Reset pulse delay from 1
3 in 1 second step.
The supervised output and the alarm repetition
output generate fault n° 30 and n° 31 respectively
for open and short-circuit of the end-of-line
resistor. In case of overload and for alarm
repetition output only, fault n° 32 is generated.
The alarm repetition output is activated when the
module receives the activation command from the
control panel. The alarm repetition output blinks
when there are more than 5 devices in alarm
condition on the detection circuit.
When the module is configured as an actuator,
input 2 is neither used nor checked.
Factory configuration of the actuator module is the
following:
Operating mode 0
Hold-off delay = 0 seconds
Feedback delay = 0 seconds
Regardless of the operating mode, if the
configuration of the module requires an external
power supply and it is not available, the module
signals fault n° 34 to the control panel;
conversely, if the module is configured with no
external power supply but a power supply is
connected to the module, fault n° 33 is signalled
to the control panel.
