possible) and measure the voltage of battery
rack when charging.
At the end of charging, if the current is lower
than 5A and the voltage of battery back is higher
than the following values: 56V for 48V system;
28V for 24V system; 14V for 12V system or 7V
for 6V system; proceed to the next step.
Otherwise, inspect whether the output of the
charger is correct, and re-charge the battery as
required. If the voltage of the battery rack is still
very low, the battery may have troubles.
Measure the voltage of individual battery when
the battery is in charging state. If the voltage of
any battery is lower than the following value:
7V for 6V battery, the voltage difference
between the battery and any other batteries in
the battery rack is larger than 0.5V; 14V for 12V
battery, the voltage difference between the
battery and any other batteries in the battery
rack is larger than 1.0V, it indicates that the
battery may have troubles.
Test of Specific Gravity
Fill in and drain the specific gravity hydrometer
2-3 times, and then take a sample from the
battery.
Measure the reading of specific gravity of all
battery units.
When the temperature is above 27
℃
, it is
necessary to add 0.004 to correct the reading of
specific gravity every 5
℃
higher; when the
temperature is below 27
℃
, it is necessary to
deduct 0.004 to correct the reading of specific
gravity every 5
℃
lower
If the specific gravity of each battery unit in the
battery rack is lower than 1.250, it indicates that
the battery rack may not be sufficiently charged;
please re-charge.
If the specific gravity difference between any
battery units in the battery rack is over 0.050, it
is necessary to equalize this battery rack.
The battery in the battery rack may have trouble
if the difference still exists.
Open-circuit Voltage Test (Rarely Used)
To obtain accurate voltage reading, it is
necessary to keep the battery idle at least by 6
hours; but it would be the best if staying idle by
24 hours.
Measure the voltage of individual battery.
It is necessary to equalize the battery rack if the
voltage of any battery is 0.3V higher than that of
other batteries in the battery rack.
Re-measure the voltage of individual battery.
The battery may have trouble if the voltage of
any battery is 0.3V higher than that of other
batteries in the battery rack.
There are also other testing methods for evaluating the
battery performance such as discharge testing method.
But we will not describe them in details.
i.
High Frequency Battery Charger
Relevant Technical Parameters:
Input voltage: AC100-240V
Output voltage: 24V
Precautions:
Low input voltage protection: The battery
charger will be shut down protectively when the
input AC voltage is lower than 85V, and it will
return to work automatically when the voltage
becomes normal.
Reverse polarity protection: In case of the
reverse polarity of the battery, the battery
charger will cut off the connection between the
internal circuit and the battery to avoid charging
and damaging.
Output short circuit protection: When there is an
accidental output short circuit of the battery
charger, the battery charger will shut down the
output automatically for trouble shooting. Then,
the battery charger will be restarted after
delaying for 10 seconds.
