Water cooling
Contrary to the standard air-cooled versions of the models in this series, water cooling is optionally available. It’s built in
during the manufacturing process, so retrofitting isn’t possible. Cooling the device with water instead of air cooling comes
with a few advantages:
•
Less ambient noise generated by the device (no fans running)
•
Better cooling at higher ambient temperatures
•
No direct dissipation of heat into the ambiance of the device
However, there also disadvantages:
•
The device isn’t allowed to run under load without active water flow
•
Water flow inside an electronic device includes a higher risk of damage caused by a leak or by condensation of water from
air humidity (dewing)
