81304TH - TETHER READY RATCHET 1/2” DR

Instructions, Adding Socket Onto Ratchet Drive Tang:

 

1. Only add sockets onto the GEARWRENCH Tether Ready Ratchet in a safe, secure location 

 

2. Engage the 2 step quick release locking lever

 

3. On the quick release button side of the ratchet head, place thumb on the on the lip at the top of the sliding plate 

 

4. Pressing down on the lip of the ratchet head, the sliding plate will engage and slide down slightly toward the ratchets  

 

    reversing lever

 

5. While still applying force on the lip of the ratchet head also apply pressure and press down on the quick release button

 

6. With both the quick release button and sliding plate engaged, this will unlock the ratchet tang, and allow for the square  

 

    drive end of the socket to be inserted into the ratchet tang

 

7. After drive end of socket in inserted into ratchet drive tang, release the pressure on the quick release button and sliding  

                  plate

 

8. Check the security of the attachment of the socket to the ratchet drive tang. Socket should be fully secure on the 

 

    ratchet drive tang

1. Only remove sockets from the GEARWRENCH Tether Ready Ratchet in a safe, secure location

 

2. Engage the 2 step quick release locking lever

 

3. On the quick release button side of the ratchet head, place thumb on the on the lip at the top of the sliding plate

 

4. Pressing down on the lip of the ratchet head, the  sliding plate will engage and slide down slightly toward the ratchets  

 

    reversing lever

 

5. Place hand on socket attached to the ratchet drive tang

 

6. While still applying force on the lip of the ratchet head also apply pressure and press down on the quick release button.  

 

    Socket will come disengaged and separate from ratchet drive tang

WARNINGS: 

 

- Only use GEARWRENCH Tether Ready Ratchets with sockets that include internal machined detent grooves inside the  

 

   drive end of socket. Use of sockets without internal machined detent grooves inside the drive end of socket may not  

 

   securely hold socket onto the ratchet drive tang and may result in a dropped socket. GEARWRENCH full polish chrome    

 

   sockets in 3/8” & 1/2” drive feature internal machined detent grooves inside the drive end of socket, these are 

 

   recommended for use with the GEARWRENCH Tether Ready ratchets. The use of a GEARWRENCH Tether Ready Ratchets    

 

   with GEARWRENCH chrome sockets with machined detents inside socket drive end, make unintentional drops virtually  

 

   impossible.  

 

- Prior to use of ratchet, examine sockets for internal machined detent grooves inside the drive end of socket. Do not use  

 

   sockets not containing internal machined detent grooves inside the drive end. (add a picture of ball detent grooves and  

 

   one without for reference)

 

- Extension bars, increasing adapters (ex. 3/8” Drive Female to 1/2” Drive Male), reducing adapters (ex. 3/8” Drive 

 

   Female to 1/4” Drive Male), or universal joints should only be used if they have an independent locking mechanism to  

 

   secure sockets (ex. locking extension bar).

 

- Only exchange sockets on the GEARWRENCH Tether Ready Ratchets in safe, secure locations

 

- GEARWRENCH Tether Ready Ratchets should only be used connected to a completed tethering system, that fully 

 

   connects the user to the ratchet as part of the tethering system
