Examples of Correlation
The following examples of correlation between standard-size Almen strips and mini-strips are for illustration only.
Actual correlation must always be done on a job-specific basis. The special Almen holder for correlation uses two
screws to capture the mini-strip. Other methods may be used such as double-sided tape or temporary adhesive
(e.g., rubber cement). For best results, all procedures must be consistent. When in doubt, repeat a test.

doubt, repeat a test. Keep accurate records of every test. Use a curve solver certified to SAE J2597. Place the mini-
strip on the gage multiple times to assure the reading is consistent.
