1 0 - 2 .   E r r o r   &   Wa r n i n g   M e s s a g e s

In  this  section  describes  the  meanings  of  error  and  warning  messages  which  may  appear  during  the

operation of MP-11 and software, and how to correspond to these messages.

1.  MP-11 Main Unit Error and Warning Message

Table 10-1. MP-11 Main Unit Error and Warning Messages

Messages

Definitions and Corresponding

The Sensor Unit is not connected to the Main Unit with modular cable and/or

the Sensor Unit power is not turned ON.

Check the cable connection between the Main Unit and Sensor Unit make sure

they are connected properly and the Sensor Unit power is turned ON.    Once

the proper connection is confirmed and time synchronization is completed, this

message will disappear automatically.

If the Sensor Unit is not used, press any key to remove this message.

The PV probes are connected with reverse polarity (plus/minus terminals), and

the measurement is terminated.

Check the PV probe polarity and reconnect as necessary.

MP-11 is not ready, and at least 30 seconds interval is required between each

measurement.    This is to prevent MP-11 from aging faster by the internal parts

heating up constantly.    Wait for more than 30 seconds before taking the next

measurement.

MP-11 is in

“not ready for measurement” mode continuously; wait for 10 more

seconds to be able to start the measurements.

The Open Circuit Voltage for PV module/array terminal to be measured more

than  maximum  voltage  of  setting  range.

  Set  upper  voltage  range  and

measure again.

If  the  setting  range  is  1000V  or  Auto  Range,  measured  voltage  is  over

maximum  voltage  to measure.  Stop  measurement  immediately;  it  may  cause

damage to MP-11.

The Short Circuit Current for PV module/array terminal to be measured is more

than  maximum  current  of  setting  current  range.  Set  upper  current  range  and

measure again.

If  the  setting  range  is  30A  range  or  Auto  Range,  measured  current  is  over

maximum  current  to  measure.  Stop  measurement  immediately;  it  may  cause

damage to MP-11.
