Wear ear-mu

 s.

The impact of noise can cause damage to

hearing.

Reduce noise generation and vibration to a

minimum!

•

Use only equipment that is in perfect

condition.

•

Maintain and clean the equipment regularly.

•

Adapt your way of working to the equipment.

•

Do not overload the equipment.

•

Have the equipment checked if necessary.

•

Switch off the equipment when not in use.

•

Wear gloves.

5. Before starting the equipment

The equipment is supplied without batteries

and without a charger.

Fitting the steady grip

Attach the steady grip (Fig. 2/Item 3) in the

direction of the arrow as shown in Fig. 4.

Make sure that the electrical contacts are

connected correctly.

Then tighten the screws (Fig. 5/Item 5).

Fitting the cuttings collector (Figure 7-9).

For horizontal cutting we recommend that you

install the cuttings collector. This enables you

to remove the cuttings easily. The surface of the

hedge thus remains clear (Fig. 7/8). Position the

cuttings collector (6) on the cutter rail (Fig. 9).

Then push the cuttings collector towards the

handle to clamp it securely under the retaining pin

(Fig. 9/Item 9).

Swivel handle

The hedge trimmer is

fi

 tted with a rear swiveling

handle. It can be swiveled 90° to the left and

right. To do so, pull the slide (Fig. 17/Item 11) in

the direction indicated by the arrow and turn the

handle. To return the handle to its original position

you must pull the slide (Fig. 17/Item 11) in the

direction indicated by the arrow again. The handle

should be turned through 90° for vertical cuts.

Note:

The lock cannot be pulled back if the On/

O

switch (Fig. 1/Item 4) is pressed.

WARNING!

Never attempt to move the handle to

a position in between.

Installing the battery (Fig. 6)

Press the pushlock button (Fig. 6/Item 12) of the

rechargeable battery as shown in Fig. 6 and push

the battery into the battery mount provided. Make

sure that the pushlock button engages properly.

To remove the battery pack, proceed in reverse

order.

6. Operation

Switching ON/OFF.

The hedge trimmer is equipped with a two-

handed safety switch. It works only when the

switch on the steady grip (Fig. 1/Item 3) is

pressed with one hand and the switch on the

handle (Fig. 1/Item 4) is pressed with the other

hand. If either switch is released, the cutters will

stop moving. Please watch out for the cutters as

they slow down to a standstill.

Work practice

•

A hedge trimmer can be used to cut shrubs

and bushes as well as hedges.

•

To obtain the best cutting results, hold the

hedge trimmer so that the cutter teeth are

at an angle of approx. 15° in relation to the

hedge (see Figure 11).

•

The twin-bladed cutters rotate in opposite

directions, thus enabling cutting in both

directions (see Figure 12).

•

It is recommended to tie a guide line of string

or the like along the hedge so that you cut the

hedge to a level height. Cut off all branches

which protrude beyond the guide line (see

Figure 13).

Warning!

 Be particularly attentive when

cutting along the guide line. Do not cut

through the guide line. This could get
