6. PREPARATION

6.1 Adjustíng the cutting depth

(Figure 3)

Release the handle on the rear of the safety
hood for adjusting the cutting depth (3).

Place the saw foot (20) flat on the surface of the
workpiece you wish to saw. Raise the saw until
the saw blade (19) is at the required cutting
depth (a).

Secure the handle for adjusting the cutting depth
(3). Check that the saw blade (19) is secure.

6.2 Miter stop

(Figures 4/5)

The preset standard angle between the saw foot
(20) and saw blade (19) is 90°. You can adjust
this angle to carry out angled cuts.

Release the handle on the front of the saw foot
for adjusting the cutting angle (9).

You can now adjust the cutting angle to around
45°. Keep an eye on the cutting angle scale (8)
as you do so.

Secure the handle for adjusting the cutting angle
(9). Check that the saw blade (19) is secure.

6.3 Adjusting the splitter

(Figure 6)

Set the cutting depth to the minimum setting.
Undo the screws (b).

Adjust the splitter (13) and secure it again.

Make sure that the splitter (13) is adjusted so that

- its distance to the saw blade gear rim does not

exceed 5 mm,

- the gear rim does not project over the bottom of
the splitter (13) by more than 5 mm.

6.4 Extraction of dust and chips

Connect your circular saw to a domestic vacuum
cleaner using the vacuum cleaner connector
(16). This will provide excellent dust extraction on
the workpiece. The benefits are  that you will pro-
tect both the tool and your own health. Your work
area will also be cleaner and safer.

Dust created when working may be dangerous.
Refer to the section entitled “Safety instructions”.

The vacuum cleaner you use for the extraction
work must be suitable for the workpiece material.
Use a special vacuum cleaner if you are handling
harmful materials.

Special regulations apply for extraction equip-
ment if you are using the tool for commercial pur-
poses. Discuss the requirements with your pro-
fessional association if necessary.

Connect a suction hose to the extraction port.
Check that all the parts are properly connected.

7. OPERATE THE CIRCULAR SAW

7.1 Using the circular saw

(Fig. 4 and 5)

Adjust the cutting depth and the cutting angle
(see section entitled “Preparation”).

Refer to the section entitled “Safety instructions”
and the section entitled “Using the laser” how you
can work easily and safely with the laser.
