Load cell connection
Load cells can be connected to the system in one of the following three ways:
•
J11 connector using a ribbon cable to 2010 load cell modules (without use of
MCE9601).
•
J3 connector using a shielded cable to either 2010 load cell modules (by using a
MCE9601 connector module), or to a 4x40 unit.

J12 connector using a ribbon cable to a 4015 load cell connection module, for System
4000 compatible load cells.
Digital I/O connector
The 4 pin digital I/O connector (J2) can be used for connecting digital inputs and outputs to
the 5024 system. This connector has the following pin-out:
J2 pin
Function
1
IO_1 (START)
INPUT: Tare weight reading (zero net reading) and start automatic dos-
ing.
2
IO_2 (REGISTRATION)
INPUT: Register weight.
3
IO_3 (FINE)
OUTPUT: Fine dosing. ON during automatic dosing until the net weight
reaches the FINE setpoint, and the dosing is completed.
4
IO_4 (COARSE)
OUTPUT: Coarse dosing. ON during automatic dosing as long as the net
weight is below the COARSE setpoint.
RS485 communication
The 3 pin RS485 serial communication connector (J4) can be used for RS485 communication
with externally connected equipment. This connector has the following pin-out:
J4 pin

A and B line definition may be switched on eternal equipment. Especially on
Siemens equipment and a few other German manufacturers A and B lines definitions are dif-
ferent.
