Instruction by our specialist technicians
Installation, maintenance and repair work may
only be carried out by suitably trained and
authorised specialist technicians.
Saws by S&W conform to all relevant safety
standards.
2.2 Safety instructions for
maintenance work
1. Keep the hook cutter in a safe place. While not
in use, store it in a dry place.
2. Work clothing: Do not wear loose clothing or
jewellery, as such items could become
entangled in moving machine parts. Wear safety
footwear. Always wear a hairnet!
3. Handle your tools with care. Verwenden Sie nur
scharfe und unbeschädigte Sägeblätter.
4. Use only original EFA blades. When replacing
the saw blade, adhere to all safety instructions.
5. Never leave spanners or wrenches attached to
the tool. Before starting it, inspect the stunning
device to ensure that all spanners and wrenches
have been removed.
6. Use only original EFA accessories. Warranty is
voided, if other accessories are used. If other
tool inserts or accessories are used, there is also
an increased risk of injury to the operator and
other persons.
7. It is prohibited to modify the machine in any
way. Schmid & Wezel rejects any liability for
damages arising from modified equipment.
3. Commissioning and
operational safety
Workplace
The
working area
for the maintenance personnel
must have a size of at least 1.5 m². This area must
be exclusively reserved for maintenance work and
may not overlap with any other working area. Die
eingezäunten Schutzräume des Systemanbieters
dürfen nicht geändert werden. The access door is to
be equipped with a lock to prevent unauthorised
access during machine operation.
The working area must be
illuminated
with min.
500 lx.
3.1 Commissioning
Information for maintenance personnel
As the saw weighs approx. 25 kg, there is a risk of
injury to the back and/or the arms, when the
machine is attached to or removed from the robot
flange. Therefore always work in teams of two or
use a spring-loaded pulley to help carry the weight.
Always proceed with special care when attaching or
removing the device from the pulley.
Ensure that the robot flange connection is not
powered and attach the saw to the robot flange.
Connection to electric power supply
The saw is driven by an electric motor and must be
connected to the mains by an approved electrician
according to the applicable VDE regulations and the
instructions of the local energy supply company. For
details, see the separate operating manual of the
system supplier.
3.2 Switching on/off
The saw is switched on and off through a separate
control system. This control system forms part of
the delivery from the system supplier. Before
commissioning the saw, read the respective
operating manual.
3.3 Working with the saw
For detailed information, technical
data, parts lists and drawings of the
equipment, see "Appendix A" (page
10).
Prior to switching on the saw, read
the instructions in this manual
carefully and ensure that the tool
is properly connected.
Do not attempt to touch the
rotating saw blade, as limbs could
be severed!
Always wear goggles or other
effective eye protection!
