3.3 Safety hood and depth stop
3.3.1 EFA SK23/ 18:
These machines are equipped with an adjustable
depth stop (T). Adjust the stop for the desired
application as follows (see Fig. 7):
1. Loosen the wing nut (F).
2. Swing out the stop (T) at the pivot point (X).
3. Tighten the wing nut (F).
Adjustment range: 15 - 75 mm

3.3.2 EFA SK30/ 18
These machines are equipped with an adjustable
safety hood (H). Adjust the hood as follows:
1. Remove the saw blade (see chapter 3.1 "Chang-
2. Remove the two hexagon bolts.
3. Select the mounting bores for the safety hood,
depending on the cutting depth (see Fig. 8).

3.4 Changing the carbon brushes
When the carbon brushes are worn, the automatic
cut-out interrupts the power supply and the
machine comes to a standstill. The automatic cut-
out prevents the collector of the armature being
damaged by the brush springs. Constant inspection
is thus eliminated.
When replacing carbon brushes with automatic in-
feed, the connection must be laid as a loop
Figure 9: Carbon deposits
After at least every second carbon brush change,
the gaps in the armature must be cleaned out using
a plastic brush.
Figure 10: Armature
Disconnect the saw from the
power supply. The carbon brushes
may only be replaced in pairs.
