2.3.1 Working procedure
Before putting the saw into operation, check the rat-
ings of the power supply network and of the saw for
correspondence. Carry out a function test before
starting work.
1. If necessary, set the cutting depth using a depth
stop or safety hood
2. Hold the breaking saw firmly with both handles
and switch on
3. With the saw running, insert into the meat to be
cut.
4. Remove the saw from the meat being cut while
still running and only then switch off.
See also chapter 2.2 "Switch operation" (p. 17).
2.3.2 Work safety
Hold the machine firmly with both handles,
never work one-handed.
Never carry the saw at the switch; it might start
unintentionally.
Work particularly carefully when the saw is
switched on.
Do not tilt or twist the saw blade.
Guards on the saw must not be removed.
After switching off, the saw blade is brought to a
standstill within 3 seconds by the run-down
brake. Only then may the handles be released.
Never work with a defective run-down brake.
For safe operation (guidance), the reciprocating
saw must be suspended from a spring balancer.
There may be a recoil when the
saw connects with bone.

Do not leave wrenches on the
machine. Check that all wrenches
have been removed before start-

Switch on the saw only when the
saw blade is securely mounted!
Wear protective gloves when
changing the saw blade!
