WARNING
Constant voltage present at terminals L1 and
L2. Before any electrical work is done, the pow-
er supply must be disconnected and secured
against activation while the work is in progress.
A) Red wire (L1) – connected to point ‘1’ on
the safety thermostat.
B) Black wire (L2) – connected to point ‘3’ on
the safety thermostat.
C) Yellow wire with green stripe
– Earth –
connected to the terminal on the heating
element (hexagonal brass)
D) Internal wires from the element to the
thermostat are connected to point ‘4’ on
the safety thermostat and point ‘2’ on the
operating thermostat. See illustration.

This water heater must be connected to a sepa-
rate fuse branch circuit or to a suitable wall socket.
For permanently connection the screw terminals
L1 and L2 can be wired in the field PROVIDED
THAT a trained field technician is involved to
make sure wires to be securely connected to the
screw terminals according to the requirements of
end-use appliance standard. See the data plate on
the product for the element wattage/voltage and
make sure the power supply wiring and fusing/
circuit breaker are the correct type and size for
this product. The relevant standards and regula-
tions must be followed.
This water heater must be electrically grounded
in accordance with all local codes, or in the ab-
sence of local codes, CSA C22.1 Canadian Electri-
cal Code.
Failure to properly ground this product
can result in property damage, personal injury or
death.
